Yet another steaming pile!!

I don’t know about you, but I always used to wonder why it took so darned long for anything to get done in Washington D.C.

Lately we’ve all been treated to the never-ending investigation of who outed Valerie Plame; supposedly a C.I.A. “asset” with deep cover. It didn’t take long to learn that Valerie ( Mrs. Joe Wilson ) was not a clandestine agent, but rather just another bureaucrat working at Langley, who just happened to be married to Ambassador Joe Wilson; a Democrat hack who has it in for the Bush administration.

Well, of course, the C.I.A. footed the bill for old Joe to take a vacation to Africa, and, while he was there, he was supposed to find out if Saddam Hussein had been trying to purchase yellow cake uranium for his weapons of mass destruction.

Old Joe had a great trip, and on his return, he made up a story about how he was asked to go to Africa by VP Dick Cheney, and that he could find no evidence that Saddam had tried to buy any yellow cake in Africa. In fact, he verified that documents showing that to be the case were forgeries.

 End of story? Hell no!!

At this point, the only person who committed anything resembling a crime was old Joe Wilson because he lied about who authorized his trip.

Of course, in the end, Scooter Libby got hung out to dry because he has a real bad memory.

I have bored you with all of this because we are about to embark on another such trip through Wonderland with the recent firing of 8 or 9 Federal prosecutors by the Bush administration.

No crime has been committed (yet), and what AG Gonzalez has done is tiddlywinks compared to what the Liar-in Chief, Bill Clintoon did when he fired 94 Federal Prosecutors all on the same day.

But, the difference now is that the Republicans have never learned to play defense.

Anyone who has played contact sports knows that the best defense is a good offense, but the Republicans just can’t seem to grasp that concept.

So, hang on to your hats and pay close attention. There will be Congressional hearings; AG Gonzalez may resign because George Bush has already admitted that “mistakes were made”.

This may take years, but someone’s head will be on the chopping block!

There are already rumors of e-mails with Dick Cheney’s name on them. Maybe the Democraps will grab the brass ring this go-round!

COOL-HAND LUKE RETURNS!

 COOL-HAND LUKE RETURNS!

When the L.A. Times & the San Francisco Chronicle both complain about Colorado’s anti-illegal immigration laws, you know Colorado is onto something good!

Prisoners to fill void left by migrants
 Colorado law chased farmworkers out!
 Nicholas Riccardi, Los Angeles Times

Friday, March 2, 2007

(03-02) 04:00 PST Denver — Ever since passing what its Legislature touted as the toughest anti-illegal immigrant laws in the nation last summer, Colorado has struggled with a labor shortage as migrants fled the state. This week, officials announced a novel solution: use convicts as farmworkers. The Department of Corrections hopes to launch a pilot program this month — thought to be the first of its kind — that would contract with more than a dozen farms to provide inmates who will pick melons, onions and peppers.

Crops were left to spoil in the fields following passage of legislation that required state identification to obtain government services and allowed police to check suspects’ immigration status.“The reason this (program) started is to make sure the agricultural industry wouldn’t go out of business,” state Rep. Dorothy Butcher said.

Her district includes the city of Pueblo, near the farmland where the convicts will work.Inmates who are a low security risk may choose to work in the fields, earning 60 cents a day. They also are eligible for small bonuses. The inmates will be watched by prison guards paid for by the farms.

The precise cost is subject to negotiations, but farmers say they expect to pay more for the inmate labor and associated costs than for their traditional workers.Advocates on both sides of the immigration debate said they were stunned by the proposal.

“If they can’t get slaves from Mexico, they want them from the jails,” said Mark Krikorian of the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington, which favors restrictions on immigration.

Ricardo Martinez of the Denver immigrants’ rights group Padres Unidos asked: “Are we going to pull in inmates to work in the service industry, too? You won’t have enough inmates — unless you start importing them from Texas.”

Farmers said they weren’t happy with the solution either, but their livelihoods are on the verge of collapse.

“This prison labor is not a cure for the immigration problem, it’s just a Band-Aid,” said Joe Pisciotta.

He says he needs to be sure he’ll have enough workers come harvest time this fall before he plants watermelons, onions and pumpkins on his 700-acre farm in Avondale. But he’s not thrilled with the idea of criminals working his fields.

“I’ve got young kids,” he said. “It’s something I’ve got to think about.”

Pisciotta said he hoped the program highlights what he views as the absurdity of Colorado’s position — dependent on immigrant labor but trying to chase migrants out of the state. Those leaving are not just people who entered illegally, he said.

“Some of them have said we think our paperwork is in order, but how about if it’s not and we get caught on a glitch,” he said.

Ever since the Democratic-controlled Colorado Legislature took a tough turn on immigration, the requirements have worried immigrants, whether in the country legally or illegally.

Immigrants’ rights advocates complain that some sheriffs have authorized deputies to pull over Latino drivers on alleged speeding violations and ask them whether they’re in the country legally.

And more stringent requirements implemented last year made it harder to obtain a Colorado driver’s license. Numerous Americans, including the daughter of a state legislator, were refused licenses due to lack of proper proof of citizenship. A judge since has ruled that the requirements must be revised.

Though social service agencies say they’ve discovered few illegal immigrants on the dole since the law was passed, immigrant and business groups agree that the heated rhetoric has led to an exodus of Latinos from Colorado — though no one is sure how many. Businesses including car washes and construction companies have complained of a worker shortage.

Some of the state’s 22,000 inmates already have agricultural experience. Convicts can participate in programs on prison grounds breaking wild horses or growing crops. About 700 work in other jobs on the outside, such as on fire crews.

This article appeared on page A - 13 of the San Francisco Chronicle   As for me, I often wax nostalgic for the days of the chain gangs in the old South.I would think prisoners would be grateful to be able to go into the crop fields, breath some fresh air and get some exercise. To also be paid for doing it: PRICELESS!

It was great while it lasted!

Hi! Glad you stopped by today.

Are you ready to do some “heavy thinking”?

I hope you are because I’ve got some news for you that I’d really like you to share with others, once you’ve absorbed it and come to realize the magnitude of what I’m about to share with you.

As you probably know, I’m a member of Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. I’ve been a Minuteman since the middle of 2005, and I’ve been standing watch on our northern border with British Columbia, Canada every month since October, 2005.

My fellow Minutemen have been down on our southern border with Mexico on the borders of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California during the same time period. In fact, we’re building our own fences on the Arizona border as you read this.

We have been doing this in an attempt to prove that our borders can be secured, and to embarass our Federal Government into finally doing something about the hordes of illegal aliens and illegal drugs coming into our country daily.

It took some time, but we’ve finally come to the realization that our President, George Bush, has no desire to secure our borders, in spite of what he may say.

Some say it’s because the Democrats in Congress see these illegals as future voters and don’t want to “alienate” them. (no pun intended!)

Others say it’s because the Republicans are being lobbied by Big Business and they really like the cheap labor these illegals provide.

Well, I must tell you, both of these suppositions are true, but the real reason George Bush will never secure our borders is a much deeper, much darker, much more shocking reason.

Before I tell you what it is, let me warn you. When you read this, you’re going to, at first, call me a conspiracy theorist. Then, when you come to realize that what you are about to read is true, your reaction will depend on your feelings about our great nation, America.

You see, there are carefully laid plans afoot to do away with the country we call home.

These plans are in the minds and hands of the most powerful and influencial people on earth.

 OK, here we go.

Our President has no desire to secure our borders because his plan is for us to have no borders.

Imagine Canada, Mexico and the United States all merged into one entity called the North American Union. Imagine no more dollars, pesos or Canadian dollars. They will all be changed into something called the “Amero”.

Imagine a court higher than the United States Supreme Court. A “North American Court”.

 Well that’s enough for now.

Then go to this website:   http://www.stopspp.org/

Send me an e-mail with question or opinions once this has all sunk in.

Let me know if you don’t believe all this. I’ll prove it to you.

If you do understand that this is for real, get on the phone and call your two Senators and your Congressional Representative. This must be stopped!

By the way, this didn’t start with George W. Bush; It actually began under the peanut farmer, Jimmy Carter, when a man named Dr, Robert Pastor helped Jimmy give away the Panama Canal.

Dr. Pastor is a key figure today behind the push for A North American Union. He’s a key member of the CFR ( Council on Foreign Relations ). So is Dick Cheney, Billy Clinton and George H.W. Bush.

Dr. Pastor published a book in 2001 titled “Toward a North American Community”.

Check it out!

Oh, and one last thing. Don’t be surprised when that semi with one headlight, bald tires and a Mexican license plate pulls up to your warehouse, the driver hops out and says with a toothy grin, ” Buenas Dias, Amigo!”

02/23/2007  (TTNews.com)One hundred Mexican trucking companies will have unlimited access to U.S. roads to haul international cargo as part of a year-long pilot program, the Department of Transportation announced today

SOMETHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT!

Well, after all the hand-wringing, sobbing and protesting about the poor illegals who are only here wanting a better life by doing the jobs that Americans won’t do, it turns out that their families are tired of waiting for them to get their butts back home!

Mexican wives have created an English language website and are posting appeals to the U.S. Government to please deport their husbands so they can get back to their spouses and children where they belong!

http://wpherald.com/articles/3531/1/Mexican-wives-want-husbands-deported-from-US/Wetback-wives-create-English-language-Web-page.html

The people they left behind aren’t starving after all.

I say let’s give them all the help we can!!

DEAR MR. PRESIDENT:

Yes, it was one of those days where I just had to get some of the heavy weights off of my chest.

I watch the news too much; I surf the internet reading bits and pieces of news from all over; and many times I compose an e-mail to send to my State Rep. or State Senator or Congressional Rep. or Senators and sometimes even the White House.

It was the President’s turn today:

Mr. President:

I am very troubled to hear that the Mexican Consulate has lobbied your good office to have our Border Patrol Agents, Sheriffs and other law enforcement personnel aggressively prosecuted whenever they are involved in an apprehension of illegal aliens entering our country where the use of force as self-defense is used.

By now the entire nation is aware that Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean were unfairly tried and convicted by Federal Prosecutor Sutton down in Texas, and now we learn of other similar instances where the good men and women who work hard to protect our nation from this unprecedented invasion are being likewise thrown to the wolves in order to appease this corrupt foreign regime!

Mr. President, although I am with you on Iraq, and I voted for you in both elections, I cannot defend your actions ( and inactions) when it comes to our borders.
You say you want secure borders, but all we, the people get is lip-service!

The American people are not dumb. We know about the plans for a North American Union, and it’s clear that you have no intentions of securing our borders in spite of the deadly threat of terrorism.
No fence is being built, except by the Minutemen, in spite of the legislation being passed and the money being appropriated!

The Republican Party would get a huge shot in the arm if you would just stand up for our Border Patrol and take some tangible steps to secure our borders.
If you continue to do nothing, elections will continue to go the way of the last one, and that is a tragedy for America.
 Please act!

                     Sincerely,

                   Howard & Saundra Washburn

At least I spoke my mind and now I can rest until the next spark sets me off!
I hope you all do the same. It’s the only way that these isolated ignoramuses inside the beltway know what’s happening out here in the real world.
I think if we all, and I do mean ALL, did this, we’d have a better country.
Oh, and here is what I got back:
On behalf of President Bush, thank you for your correspondence.
We appreciate hearing your views and welcome your suggestions.
The President is committed to continuing our economic progress,
defending our freedom, and upholding our Nation’s deepest values.

PRESIDENTS’ DAY?

You know, I’m an old guy, so I remember when I was a kid, we had two Holidays; Washington’s Birthday and Lincoln’s Birthday.

Many years ago they were combined and the Holiday’s name was changed to President’s Day.

Well, today has come and gone, and I have heard no mention of George Washington or Abraham Lincoln. There has barely been any mention that today is a holiday at all!

How will the memories of “The Father of our Country” and “The Great Emancipator” be kept fresh in the minds of my countrymen and the minds of our children; the beneficiaries of this great gift called America?

I am certain that, one day soon, someone I know will ask “Why is Presidents’ Day a Holiday?”

These two men were such great men! Were it not for them, there would be no Martin Luther King Day; no 4th of July; no Memorial Day; no Labor Day!

Were it not for them, I shudder to think where the world might be.

How sad.

Why don’t we hear this kind of “tell it like it is” from the “MSM?

Pelosi’s foreign policy advisor

I’m discovering how to post photos from a url today. I’ve never done this before so I’ve created an account at photobucket to see if I can get it to work.

I thought that the subject of Democrat foreign policy might be appropriate in view of yesterday’s non-binding vote in the House on the troop surge in Iraq.

 Works great!! Way cool, Jane.
